eInk Board / Personal use
Terms of Use
Last updated October 16, 2026
eInk Board is a personal household project maintained by John Ihnotic. These terms describe use of its local calendar integration and display.
Use the app with permission
By using eInk Board, you agree to these terms. Use it only with accounts, calendars, devices, and networks you are authorized to access. You are responsible for deciding which calendar to display and who can see the screen or use the local controller.
The application reads a selected Google Calendar to display today's events and future events you mark. It does not write to Google Calendar. The app is intended for personal household use, not as a hosted calendar service for other organizations.
Keep the local installation under your control
You are responsible for your Mac, display, network, local credentials, and backups. Keep the controller and device access tokens private and protect the stored OAuth files. Do not expose the local controller publicly or use the app to bypass another person's access restrictions.
The Privacy Policy explains how calendar data is handled, what Disconnect removes, and what requires separate local deletion.
Updates can be delayed or unavailable
The app is provided as is, without a promise of uninterrupted service, a particular refresh time, or error-free calendar information. New screen updates depend on the Mac, local network, Google API access, and the display's polling schedule. An e-paper screen can keep showing its last image after a connection fails.
Check Google Calendar for the authoritative event details when timing matters. Google may expire or revoke access, and you may need to reconnect. The maintainer may change or discontinue this personal project.
Third-party services and software
Google Calendar and Google accounts are governed by Google's terms. eInk Board is an independent project and is not sponsored or endorsed by Google or the display manufacturer. Included third-party software remains subject to its own licenses; these terms do not replace those licenses.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Stopping use and updates
You can stop using the app at any time. Disconnect the account, revoke the Google grant if desired, and follow the local-data removal guidance. Removing authorization does not automatically erase the image on the display.
Updates to these terms will be posted here with a revised date.
